Both Dr Shabnam Vawda and Dr Lyndall Gourlay worked as associate dentists in Norwest for over 20 years. Over their years of experience together, they enjoyed sharing patient-focused dental care solutions and treatment philosophies. In this environment, the seed of an idea for practice ownership was sown. This grew into a vision of creating excellence in dental care by joining their friendship and years of experience caring for people, with the setting of a comfortable, purpose-made, modern space.
As Sydney University honours graduates, they know the diligence it takes to create quality results. They understand how you want the best for those you love. These values inherent in their stories are reflected in their Hills District dental practice, Willow Dental Care.
Every detail of providing the highest standard of dentistry has been considered and planned for. They look forward to growing Willow Dental Care into a premier dental practice for the Baulkham Hills community and surrounding areas including Winston Hills, Castle Hill, and Stanhope Gardens.

Dr Lyndall Gourlay, BDS (Hons), FADI, FICD
Registered Dentist, General Registration
Dr Lyndall Gourlay has been a hills district local since childhood and is proud to serve her community as co-owner of Willow Dental Care. Graduating with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with honours from Sydney University, Lyndall combines this same pursuit for excellence with a warm, patient-centred approach to dental care.
With over 25 years of practice in the Norwest area, Lyndall values the lifelong connections built with patients who trust her with their oral health. She is dedicated to providing personalised treatment plans, with a particular focus on restoring smiles and function using contemporary and minimally invasive techniques. Recent advanced training includes a six-month mentorship with Dr Andrea Shepperson in Managing Tooth Wear including the use of digital smile design techniques, extensive Clear Aligner programs with a focus on Invisalign® and restorative masterclasses with international leaders such as Dr Jason Smithson.
Lyndall enjoys all aspects of general dentistry for all ages, particularly minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry including Composite Bonding, Veneers, Clear Aligner treatment with Invisalign® and Teeth Whitening. She enjoys collaborating with local specialists to help guide patients to solve complex or long standing concerns, and she loves assisting people overcome anxiety in the dental setting. Outside the practice she loves being outdoors and cultivating meaningful moments to share with friends and family over shared meals and music.

Dr Shabnam Vawda, BDS (Hons)SydUni

Dr Shabnam Vawda was born in South Africa and moved to Australia at the age of five, where she was inspired to pursue a rewarding career in healthcare.
She graduated with Honours from the University of Sydney.
Shabnam is a compassionate dentist who understands the importance of a safe and nurturing experience, and listens attentively to her patients’ concerns without judgement.
For over 20 years she has enjoyed tailoring treatment to individual patient's dental and emotional needs, attending to every aspect of their well-being at Willow Dental Care.
She's committed to clinical excellence and has completed advanced training in complex dental restoration and cosmetic dentistry with esteemed local prosthodontic specialists, as well as training in anxiety management, focussed psychological strategies and CBT to help her patients with dental anxiety.
Her patients appreciate her warmth and expertise as they work together to achieve optimal dental wellness in the context of general health. She enjoys collaborating with her patients to create healthy, attractive and confident smiles and, in particular, developing long-standing relationships with her patients and their families.
Outside of dentistry, Shabnam is kept busy with her three children, enjoying music and making time to laugh with friends and family.

Dr Alexander Lui, GradDipDent (Griff), PGDip AARD (Port)
Dr Alexander Lui brings a calm, considered approach to dentistry—the kind that turns a nerve-wracking visit into a genuinely comfortable one. With nearly eight years of experience in the field, he combines a gentle chairside manner with a strong focus on clear communication, helping patients feel informed and at ease from the moment they arrive. Alexander is thrilled to be joining the team at Willow Dental Care.
Alexander completed his dental degree at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, followed by a postgraduate diploma in aesthetics and restorative dentistry from the University of Portsmouth. He has also pursued implant training both across Australia and internationally, keeping his skills current and his care well-rounded. His advanced training means he can offer patients a wide scope of treatment, from everyday preventive care to more complex aesthetic and restorative work.
What drives Alexander most is seeing patients walk out with more confidence than they had when they walked in. He believes dentistry is about far more than teeth. It's about helping people smile freely and function comfortably in their daily lives. He also values the relationships that develop over time with the people he treats, and he takes pride in being a supportive, approachable presence for his colleagues as well. He was drawn to dentistry by a love of working with his hands and a natural inclination for problem-solving, and he finds great satisfaction in how those skills translate into meaningful improvements in patients' health and well-being.
Outside the practice, Alexander enjoys fishing, hiking, and exploring new cafés whenever he gets the chance. He's an avid traveller and loves capturing his adventures with a drone. At home, he shares his space with four corgis—yes, four—which tells you just about everything you need to know about him.
