Most dental implant cases require three to four appointments over a period of several months. The exact number depends on your individual situation, bone health, and whether you need preliminary procedures like bone grafting.
The Typical Dental Implant Timeline
Your first appointment involves a thorough evaluation and treatment planning. We will assess your oral health, take necessary imaging and discuss whether you're a suitable candidate for dental implants in Norwest, NSW.
The second appointment is the surgical placement of the titanium implant post into your jawbone under local anesthesia. After placement, a healing period of 3–6 months follows, during which the implant integrates with the bone in a process called osseointegration.
Once healing is complete, you will return for an appointment so your dentist can attach the abutment (the connector piece) to the implant. After your gums heal around the abutment (usually 1–2 weeks), we will schedule a final appointment to place your custom dental crown.
