Porcelain Veneers in Norwest, NSW
Porcelain veneers are beautiful, life-like thin porcelain shells that we can bond to the front of teeth. They can be appropriate for managing chipped, discoloured, worn or misaligned teeth.
Once the treatment planning and clinical records are taken, we will often create a wax-up of the desired smile. We use this wax-up to make your provisional (long-term temporary) restorations. Once placed, these serve to allow you to spend some time wearing the planned smile to ensure you, your friends, and your family are happy with the colour, shape, and length of your teeth. In addition, speech, function and bite can be trialled. We can then make adjustments as needed, which will help perfect the final restorations.
The teeth will need to be gently prepared to allow space for the porcelain. We always strive to be minimally invasive and to preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible. An impression is taken and sent to one of our chosen Australian dental labs. We will replace your provisionals for two weeks until the new veneers return. Once they do, they are tried in and assessed for your feedback. If we are both happy with the fit, contour and colour, we can bond them permanently.
Porcelain veneers require less maintenance as they are a stronger material and do not tend to stain over time.
